Lauterbrunnen is a well known destination in the Bern Region. It is situated between vast rocky mountain faces and peaks, with an abundance of natural beauty, including 72 thundering waterfalls such as the Staubbach Falls, which plunge almost 300m from an overhanging cliff; and Trümmelbach Falls in the Black Monk mountain. In summer there are plenty of excursions to take part in, from quick access to the exciting ski regions of Wengen-Kleine Scheidegg and Mürren-Schilthorn to the traditional mountain village of Isenfluh, perched on a steep rock terrace at 1032m. Winter brings wonderful snow for skiing and snowboarding, as well as many cross country trails, along with 100 km of winter hiking trails and 50 km of toboggan runs. Famous Lauterbrunnen view point: 46°35'40.8"N 7°54'29.9"E
