The Dambulla Royal Cave Temple, also known as the Golden Temple, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Sri Lanka. It's a massive cave temple complex with over 80 caves, housing 153 Buddha statues, Sri Lankan kings' statues, and various gods and goddesses. The caves are adorned with intricate paintings depicting scenes from Buddha's life and important historical events. Dating back to the first century BCE, this ancient site remains one of the best-preserved and most significant monasteries in Sri Lanka, attracting visitors with its stunning architecture and rich cultural heritage.
