We stayed at Spencer Cove Recreation Site for a night. We spent the day at Grant Bay walking the beach and rolling in the sand. The North Island weather can change fast and did it ever. Figuring we had at least an hour before the wind and rain hit us, we packed up and hit the road. Knowing this rec site would be under the trees could give us some coverage.

The site features beautiful views of the surrounding inlet that leads into Winter Harbour. It's about two minutes from Winter Harbour, a very small community with one store.
