Salamanca Place is lined with a row of Georgian sandstone warehouses built in the 1830s. These buildings were originally used to store goods like grain, wool, whale oil, and imported products from the bustling port of Hobart.

Nowadays, it's a bustling area filled with restaurants, shops, galleries, and a lively market every Saturday.

Salamanca Square is a cozy place where you can shop, eat, and chill out. It's got a mix of trendy shops, cafes, and restaurants all in one place.

Mona Ferry

Ferry to MONA

A fun way to visit the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) is by ferry. It's a scenic ride on the river! It's best to pre-book tickets but you can also show up and purchase them there.

Quirky blend of ancient & contemporary

This quirky and eclectic museum showcases a mix of ancient and contemporary art, along with wine, restaurants, and music. It's an incredibly strange and thought-provoking museum that pushes boundaries. So be aware!! Plan a half day to visit as it's very big!

Mount Wellington

Mount Wellington, also known as kunanyi, rises 1,271 meters above sea level. It offers stunning views of Hobart and the surrounding area. The mountain is often snow-capped and has a mix of dense forests and walking trails. You can drive your own vehicle to the summit or take the "Wellington Explorer" shuttle from Hobart. We did the latter, which has a limited timetable so make sure to check it out in advance.
