The Kepler Track offers stunning alpine vistas and beech-forested shorelines around lakes Te Anau and Manapouri. This 60 km (37 miles) loop track takes about 3-4 days to complete and is categorized as an intermediate to advanced hiking experience. During the Great Walks season, from late October to April, facilities are more available, but outside this time, it's for experienced and well-equipped adventurers only.

In the Great Walks season (late October - May): Bookings are required for huts and campsites. Huts have gas cooking stoves and resident wardens.
