This popular ski area becomes a peaceful retreat in the summer, free from the usual crowds. It was our favorite sunset spot, a mere 20-minute drive from Queenstown's center. From the large parking lot at the base of the chairlifts or the paragliding take-off spot, you can watch the sun bathe the surrounding peaks and valley in a soft golden light.
