Waterberg Plateau Park is a beautiful and unique national park in central Namibia. Located on the Waterberg Plateau south-east of Otjiwarongo, the park is teeming with life and is ecologically diverse. With over 200 different species of birds present, it is also home to some rare small antelopes on the lower hills of the mountain. Geologically, the oldest stratum at the park dates back to 850 million years ago! Due to its remote location, it has long served as a safe haven for endangered wildlife that were relocated in the early 1970s from areas where they were most threatened. Visitors can even view the graves of German soldiers who fought bravely in the Battle of Waterberg against the local Herero people in 1904. There is so much to explore at Waterberg Plateau Park - there's no better way to get close to nature!
