Outjo is a lively town in Namibia's Kunene Region which makes for an ideal stopover point during a tour of the region. The small city of 6000 inhabitants is known as the gateway to the spectacular Etosha National Park and is home to some of the country's most impressive sights. From the Naulila Monument which commemorates a small expedition by Major Viktor Franke, to Vingerklip (meaning 'finger-like rock') where one can explore vast stalactites and stalagmites, there is plenty to see and do in Outjo. Additionally, the nearby Ugab River provides excellent opportunities for rafting, relaxing, and taking in the gorgeous scenery. Outjo is also a great starting point to explore neighbouring Damaraland and the Kaokoveld, both of which are within driving distance.
