Just across the river from D.C., you'll find a place of profound peace and remembrance, the National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial. This quiet, open space honors the 184 lives lost here on September 11, 2001. You can walk among the 184 memorial benches, each one dedicated to a victim, arranged by their year of birth. It's a deeply moving experience, especially in the evening when the pools of water beneath each bench are illuminated, creating a serene and reflective atmosphere.
