Don't get lost! Google & Apple Maps WON'T work

Download the Kakao T app before you go! You'll need it even for walking directions as google and apple maps are incorrect. There are also lots of locations and addresses that only exist on Kakao. It's a must have!

For public transportation, you'll need to buy a Climate Card at a corner store (like 7/11 or Nice To CU) to load up. These are reusable transit cards with specific low-price options for tourists. They're often kept behind the counter, so feel free to ask the cashier for one and they can help. Once you have it, head down to a metro station and find a machine. Important: Most machines don't accept international credit cards (unless a sign states so), so bring cash to load up your card. Make your selection for how many days you'll be in Seoul, pay once, and enjoy unlimited bus and train rides around the city!

Kakao will show you all of the transit routes you can take to your destination, along with live tracking of the train or bus you need to catch. The transit system is incredible easy to navigate - just follow the directions on the app and you won't be steered wrong.
