West Iceland is home to the most powerful hot spring in Europe! It produces over 180 liters (47.5 US gallons) per second of boiling hot water. That water is used to provide heat and hot water to nearby towns and villages, including Reykholt and Borgarnes.

This is a relatively quick stop that gives you a glimpse of the bubbling hot water constantly being produced by this hot spring.

The viewing spot is conveniently located next to Krauma geothermal spa, which uses the hot water in all its hot pools where people can relax and rejuvenate.
