This is the only place in the world that recreates a volcanic eruption by super heating real lava and pouring it into a showroom full of people.

I've been fortunate to experience the lava show several times and I think it's such a fun experience for people of all ages. Yes, Iceland has a lot of volcanic activity but most people will never see real lava because it's either too hard to get to or there is not an active volcano happening when they visit.

This attraction gives you the ability to see molten hot lava in a safe, warm, and educational environment. On top of that, they make the Vík location unique by focusing on talking about Katla, a potentially deadly volcano that is nearby the town.

If you are really curious, you pay a little more to get the "behind the scenes" experience where you can see the customized furnace they had built to be able to melt rocks into lava.
