Fernkloof Nature Reserve in Hermanus is like a botanical wonderland tucked away in the Kleinrivier Mountains. There are guided 12 kilometer walks for the not so advanced hikers. Maps are sold for R20.00 at the Information desk. The Nature Reserve covers 18 square kilometers, this place is a hotspot for fynbos plants, boasting over 1,250 species in just 18 square kilometers – that's a lot of greenery in one spot! With trails winding through the reserve, it's the perfect place to stretch your legs, spot some wildlife like rhebok and baboons, and marvel at the colorful display of flowers that change with the seasons. It's basically nature's playground right on the doorstep of Hermanus.
