Emerald Lake is located in Yoho National Park in British Columbia, Canada. It is known for its vivid green hue, which is caused by the powdered rock from glaciers suspended in the glacial water that reflects the blue-green spectrum of sunlight. The lake is a popular destination for outdoor activities such as canoeing during summer and cross-country skiing in winter. Other nearby features include the Emerald Lake Lodge, a high-end lodge on a peninsula jutting into the lake, and several hiking trails such as the 5.2 km circuiting trail around the lake. The lake is also home to various forms of wildlife including Brown (Grizzly) Bears, Black Bears, Mountain Goats, and Bighorn Sheep.
