Moraine Lake (Canoe)

Directions

I have always gotten amazing photos when taking a canoe out at moraine. My preference is around when they first open because the water is more still but it really doesn't matter that much. During the day when it's bright out, the colors of the lake are poppin. It's expensive but if you're all the way out there it's worth it.

Here is from Moraines site:

Located in the Valley of the Ten Peaks in Banff National Park, Moraine Lake is crowned by ten notable peaks. A truly bucket list item, Moraine Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. It was even featured on the back of an old $20 Canadian bill at one time! The lake is stunning in colour which is created from glacial silt and is one of the most photographed lakes in the Canadian Rockies. The area offers an array of activities; you can rent a canoe and paddle to the end of the lake, take a stroll along the shoreline, or hike a number of beautiful routes including Consolation Lakes, Larch Valley, Sentinel Pass and Eiffel Lake. If you prefer, you could simply purchase a beverage from Moraine Lake Lodge’s Cafe, find a bench to sit on and take in the lake and the beautiful surroundings.

What better way to experience the beauty of Moraine Lake than gliding through its serene blue waters on a canoe? Moraine Lake Lodge offers high-quality canoe rentals to visitors at our canoe dock from mid-June to mid-September.
