Your sea kayaking adventure begins at Kailua Beach Park. A short paddle leads you to Popoi’a Island, a protected seabird sanctuary that you may explore to observe native Hawaiian plants and animals. From there it is easy paddling to Lanikai Beach, an excellent stop for snorkeling around large coral heads and tropical fish. Enjoy the fine white-sand beach or kayak to the Moku’lua Islands. A small, secluded beach allows for landing on this protected seabird sanctuary. Wedge Tailed Shearwaters and the occasional Albatross enjoy the sanctity of Hawaii’s offshore islands and fledglings can be seen from spring to late fall. Keep the proper distance and respect the animals in their natural ecosystem
