Vilnius, Lithuania

So as you already understood. Travelling in Lithuania is pretty simple, but I'll start first of all with the main cities.

Mobility around main cities (Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda):

Basically for mobility around you need one app: BOLT - this app covers almost all cities in Lithuania and you can pick services as ride-hailing, e-scooters, car rent and even scheduled pick-ups from various places. Yes you can still try to use services as Uber or other local ones, but Bolt seems to have most coverage and reliability.

Main cities as well has a great public transport system. You can buy a city card, but in Vilnius you can actually buy ticket directly from composter. But all-in-all - if you will have app: TRAFI - it will cover all your public transport needs. By adding start and end location you will immediately will get all the information you need.

Travelling to other cities:

Lithuania has much to offer and even though our public transport system works pretty great and will help you to hop from Vilnius to Trakai, or Kaunas. Some areas are more remote and I would suggest a car. Anyway, that's the list of how is easiest to travel:

  1. Travel by bus. It's super reliable and I never had any problems with these public busses. Prices will range from 3 euros to Trakai to roughly about 25 euros to Klaipėda. This is the official WEBSITE where you can book your bus tickets and find all time tables.

  2. Travel by train. It's again super reliable possibility to travel. I could even say romantic one. During the Christmas time we have at least few train's and they have a special time table - but it's usually starting December. This is the official WEBSITE to buy train tickets. Prices are similar to the Bus prices, unless you'll go with the first class. It has some benefits as pre-picked seat and water bottle on longer trips but I am not sure if the benefits are significant.

  3. Rent a car. And actually in Lithuania we have super popular method car-sharing. So basically all you need is one of the apps (I'm gonna list them), you just pick the plan or take a car on demand (I offer to search for packages since it's a bit more cheaper), go to the car, and open it via app. All the parking fees, insurances are already fixed. You can even usually pick these cars in the airport. We have three main companies - Bolt Drive (You can access this via same Bolt app I told you before), CityBee and Spark. All the services works similarly - just pricing is a bit different. And Spark is just electric cars so it's perfect to use in town, but I would avoid it for a longer trips.
