The first vegan fast food spot in town. They do serve delicious burgers, burritos, some soups, and more. It's not a really big or cosy place, so it's more of a take-away spot.

There's not much else to say than that this spot makes the best falafel in town – and is also one of the few vegan places you can find. It's more of a take-away spot but sometimes, you are lucky and can grab one of their few tables.

Here you'll find anything that can be served in a bowl – from delicious oatmeals to poké bowls with fresh, seasonal ingredients. They have plenty of vegetarian and even a few vegan options too!

🇬🇧 Aščinica's are canteens a lot of Sarajevans go to for a quick, home-cooked lunch. This is the best Aščinica in town. Their food is always freshly prepared and delicious. Go there on your lunch break because most dishes will be sold out by early afternoon. Try sarma in winter and filled paprika any time of the year.

Am besten ist es, mittags hinzugehen, denn die meisten Gerichte sind schon am frühen Nachmittag ausverkauft. Probiere Sarma im Winter und gefüllte Paprika zu jeder Jahreszeit.

🇬🇧 This place is my go-to when I have friends in town and want them to try the (in)famous Bosnian liquor: Rakija. Barhana has the best in town!

Rakija is made out of fruit, mostly plums, pears, apples, quinces or apricots and it's STRONG – up to 45 %! For those who don't like hard liquor I can really recommend "Višnja" which is a sour cherry liqueur.

This restaurant also has nice traditional Bosnian food, especially the filled peppers and stuffed wine leaves are nice and the prices are very decent.

Rakija wird aus Früchten hergestellt, meistens aus Pflaumen, Birnen, Äpfeln, Quitten oder Aprikosen, und er ist stark - bis zu 45 %! Für diejenigen, die keinen harten Schnaps mögen, kann ich "Višnja" empfehlen, einen Sauerkirschlikör.

In diesem Restaurant gibt es auch leckeres traditionelles bosnisches Essen, vor allem die gefüllten Paprikaschoten und die gefüllten Weinblätter sind lecker und die Preise sind sehr anständig.

In Barhana kann nur bar bezahlt werden!

One of the most unique restaurants in Sarajevo: Strictly vegetarian, strictly reservation only: This place is small and cosy and the owner is the waiter, chef, and entertainer. The vegetarian menu is truly exceptional, everything is always prepared with fresh, seasonal, and local ingredients from scratch and just for the day.

This place has definitely become a favourite of visitors during the past couple of years – their waiters are always super friendly, they serve up local food with a modern twist, and they can accommodate various dietary requirements. Klopa is located directly at the cathedral, so it's a great spot for people watching too.

In the summer, they don't accept reservations, so come early or be prepared for a waiting period (they'll serve you drinks in the meantime, to sweeten the wait!)

This burger bar looks like an American diner and the food can definitely keep up with American burgers as well. But they're giving their own twist, with delicious combinations such as goat's cheese and marmelade or a vegan burger with ajvar.

This place serves delicious Italian pizzas from a wood-fired oven and with original Italian ingredients. Their tiramisu and ice-cream is absolutely delish as well. I love the place for the outdoor terrace – especially in the summer, it's very cosy and quiet to sit here and enjoy an Aperol Spritz.

They do have vegan options too.
