We climbed up to the castle which was a bit of a scramble and still quite hot, even in September. Nonetheless I would recommend you hike up there, wander around the castle ruins. The castle was built in the 3rd century BC and has been used by many different civilizations throughout its history. Don't forget to enjoy the view of the city, surrounding mountains and lake Shkodër.
