Sintra's public transportation is operated by Scotturb, offering two primary tourist bus routes that connect the major sights:

🚍 Bus 434 – Circuito da Pena

Route: Sintra Train Station → São Pedro de Sintra → Moorish Castle → Pena Palace → Sintra Old Town → Sintra Train Station

Frequency: Every 15 minutes

Operating Hours:

Summer: 8:50 AM – 7:50 PM

Other Seasons: 8:50 AM – 7:00 PM

Travel Time:

Sintra Station to Moorish Castle: ~15 minutes

Sintra Station to Pena Palace: ~20 minutes

Ticket Options:

Round-Trip: €7.60

One-Way: €4.10

24-Hour Unlimited Pass (includes Bus 435): €13.50

This route is ideal for reaching the hilltop attractions, especially Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle. The bus navigates steep, winding roads, so it's advisable to remain seated during the journey.

Sintra Portugal

🚐 Bus 435 – Villa Express 4 Palácios

Route: Sintra Train Station → Sintra National Palace → Quinta da Regaleira → Seteais Palace → Monserrate Palace → Sintra Train Station

Frequency: Every 20 minutes

Operating Hours:

Summer: 9:30 AM – 7:50 PM

Other Seasons: 9:30 AM – 6:10 PM

Ticket Price: €5.50

This "hop-on hop-off" ticket allows you to disembark and reboard along the route until you complete the circuit.

Bus 435 is particularly useful for visiting attractions like Quinta da Regaleira and Monserrate Palace, which are situated further from the town center.
