If you're traveling Japan with kids, prepare yourself: Kiddy Land is a five-story sensory bomb of every character your littles love (and many you've never heard of). Snoopy, Studio Ghibli, Sanrio, Pokémon, Disney, Rilakkuma — all in one building right on Omotesando.
What makes it special: each floor is its own themed world. Basement = Snoopy. Ground floor = the rotating "what's hot in Japan right now" section. Upper floors = Ghibli, Sanrio, Disney, character plushes you literally cannot find anywhere else. The Japan-exclusive merch is the real draw — your kids will lose their minds over Pikachu collabs and Hello Kitty x [random brand] you'll never see at home.
Kid tips:
• Best for ages 3+. Toddlers plus little kids will be wide-eyed and grabby — hold tight to small hands, it gets PACKED.
• Go early (opens 11am) or late afternoon. Weekends are chaos.
• Set a budget BEFORE you walk in. Tell the kids "you can pick one thing" and stick to it. Everything is shiny and they will want all of it.
• Bathrooms are tiny and there's no stroller-friendly elevator — wear your littlest if possible.
• Located right on Omotesando, an easy 5-min walk from Harajuku Station.
We pair this with Takeshita Street crepes and a stop at the Pokémon Center Shibuya — a perfect Harajuku-Shibuya kid afternoon.
