Origin & History
Originally a natural stream, Cheonggyecheon dates back to the Joseon Dynasty. when it was used for drainage and daily life. During the 20th century, it was covered by roads and an elevated highway. In 2005, Seoul restored it into the eco-friendly stream you see today.
