In Vennivaara, you can find amazing, old snow covered trees! I used to come here for Nothern Lights as well because it's far enough from the city (15 minutes drive) and but still close enough to have easy access. Just drive up to the hill and leave your car somewhere in those parking areas. On winter it is crucial to have either skis or snow shoes with you: there might be over a meter of snow! To me, sunset is the best time to come here or during the night time when it's clear and possibility for the Northern Lights.
