⛰️ Distance & Elevation gain: 12.9 km round-trip, 770m elevation gain
🗓️ Season: May to October

📍 Location: Utladalen Valley, Årdal, Vestland
🚗 Parking: Parking lot at Hjelle (near Hjellefossen)
🔗 AllTrails Route

Vettisfossen is Norway’s tallest free-falling, unregulated waterfall, plunging an impressive 275 meters (902 feet) straight down into the Utladalen Valley. Starting from the parking lot at Hjelle, the trail follows a well-maintained gravel path known as Folkevegen, leading you through the picturesque Utladalen Valley. After approximately 5 km, you'll reach the historic Vetti Farm (Vetti Gard), a charming spot to rest and soak in the surroundings. From here, the trail becomes more rugged and steeper as it ascends towards the base of Vettisfossen. The final stretch can be slippery, so sturdy hiking boots are recommended.
