Just a stone's throw from the village, you'll find the incredible Merzouga Lake, a stunning, almost magical sight in the middle of the desert. It's a seasonal lake, so its presence feels like a special gift, especially when it attracts flocks of flamingos and other birds. The view of the vast Erg Chebbi dunes reflected on its surface is something you won't forget. It's easily accessible by car, though the road is partly unpaved, and makes for a perfect, peaceful stop to just sit and soak in the unique scenery.
