Todgha Gorges are one of the most spectacular natural landmarks in Morocco, located near Tinghir on the edge of the Atlas Mountains. The canyon is famous for its enormous limestone cliffs that rise dramatically on both sides of the narrow river valley, reaching heights of up to 300 meters in some sections.
The most iconic part of the gorge is the narrow canyon entrance, where the rock walls close tightly around the small river and road below. Walking through this section feels incredibly impressive because the cliffs are so high and steep that they almost block out the sky.
Beyond the main viewpoint, the area opens into longer hiking routes, climbing spots, palm valleys and smaller villages hidden deeper in the mountains. The gorge is especially popular with climbers because of the massive rock faces, but even casual visitors usually stop here for the scenery and short walks through the canyon.
