Tucked into the side of Gellért Hill, you'll discover a truly unique place of worship built within a natural cave system. This active church, once a monastery and even a WWII field hospital, offers a serene and cool escape with a constant year-round temperature. For a modest entrance fee, which includes an audio guide, you can explore the fascinating rock-hewn chapels and soak in the quiet, contemplative atmosphere. It's a memorable and spiritual experience, just a short walk from the base of the hill.

Honest tip:
This is one of those small but super unique Budapest spots that most people would walk right past. It’s not a huge attraction, but if you’re already near Liberty Bridge or Gellért Baths, it’s such a cool little stop and definitely one of the city’s more underrated hidden gems.

Entry fee: Usually around HUF 750 for adults. Prices can change, so better check on-site.
