Heroes’ Square is one of Budapest’s most famous landmarks, located at the end of Andrássy Avenue next to City Park (Városliget). The square is dominated by the Millennium Monument, a tall column with the statue of Archangel Gabriel, flanked by statues of Hungary’s historical kings and leaders. The semi-circular colonnade behind the monument features important figures from Hungarian history, making the square a symbolic representation of the nation’s past. Heroes’ Square is also the site of cultural events, concerts, and public celebrations, and is often the starting point for walks into City Park, where attractions like Vajdahunyad Castle and the Széchenyi Thermal Bath are located.
