The Cinema Museum in Ouarzazate celebrates the city’s long connection to the international film industry. Located directly opposite the historic Taourirt Kasbah, the museum showcases old movie props, costumes, cameras, lighting equipment and reconstructed film sets used throughout Morocco’s cinematic history.
Ouarzazate has become one of the world’s most famous desert filming locations, with productions such as Gladiator, Game of Thrones, The Mummy, and many historical epics filmed in the surrounding landscapes. The museum gives visitors a behind-the-scenes look into how the region became known as the “Hollywood of Morocco.”
Inside, you’ll find recreated studio scenes, traditional set designs, old filmmaking tools, and atmospheric rooms designed to resemble classic movie environments. While the museum itself is relatively small, the nostalgic and slightly old-school atmosphere adds to its charm.
The entrance fee is a modest 30 MAD, offering a fun, self-guided adventure into movie history.
