Kasbah Taourirt is one of the most important and best-preserved kasbahs in southern Morocco, located right in the center of Ouarzazate. It was once the residence of the powerful Glaoui family, who controlled trade routes between the Sahara and Marrakech.

The structure is a maze of earthen walls, towers, courtyards, and narrow passageways that reflect traditional Moroccan desert architecture. Inside, you can still explore decorated rooms with carved ceilings, geometric patterns, and remnants of its historical function as both a residence and administrative center.

From the upper levels, you get nice views over Ouarzazate and the surrounding desert landscape. The kasbah is also very close to the city center, making it an easy cultural stop without needing a long detour.
