El Hank Lighthouse is one of Casablanca’s lesser-known landmarks, located on the Atlantic coastline west of the Hassan II Mosque. Built in the early 20th century during the French protectorate period, the lighthouse still stands as an important maritime symbol of the city and offers one of the best panoramic coastal views in Casablanca.
The white tower rises above the oceanfront cliffs and can be climbed via a spiral staircase (256 steps) to reach the top viewing platform. From there, you get sweeping views over the Atlantic Ocean, the Casablanca skyline, the Corniche coastline and even the Hassan II Mosque in the distance.
Compared to the city’s busier attractions, the atmosphere here feels calmer and more local. The surrounding coastal area is popular with walkers, fishermen and locals watching the sunset over the Atlantic.
⚠️ Access to the top platform is not always guaranteed. During renovations or certain periods, you may only view the lighthouse from outside.
