Ura e Mesit is an impressive Ottoman-era stone bridge located outside Shkodër, set in a quiet rural landscape surrounded by mountains and open nature. It’s one of the best-preserved historical bridges in Albania and has a very photogenic setting.

The bridge arches over a riverbed that changes dramatically depending on the season. In spring and after rainfall, you’ll usually see water flowing underneath, which makes the scene more dramatic. In summer, however, the river can be very low or even completely dry, which changes the atmosphere quite a bit.
