The “Rassemblement naturel des singes” is a natural area where wild Barbary macaques can often be seen gathering. These monkeys are not in a zoo or sanctuary - they are fully wild animals that have adapted to human presence over time.
You can stop here to observe the monkeys up close, as they move through trees, rocks and open spaces in small groups. They can appear very used to people, which makes the encounter feel special, but also slightly misleading - their behavior is still wild and unpredictable.
Because of frequent human interaction, some monkeys may approach cars or tourists expecting food. This is why feeding is strongly discouraged. Buying food for them or offering snacks can reinforce dependency and sometimes lead to aggressive behavior between animals.
The experience can be fun and memorable, especially for photography, but it’s important to keep distance, avoid direct contact and not encourage interaction.
Honest opinion: It’s a cool stop if you treat it as wildlife observation, not an attraction. The monkeys are fun to watch, but the experience gets worse when people feed them or try to interact too much. Best approach: observe quietly, take photos and move on without interfering.
