The Rabat Lighthouse, also known as Phare de Rabat, stands on the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean near the Kasbah of the Udayas. While relatively simple compared to Morocco’s grand monuments, the lighthouse is loved for its dramatic coastal setting and panoramic ocean views.

The surrounding area feels open and peaceful, with strong Atlantic waves crashing below the cliffs and wide views stretching along the coastline. It’s especially atmospheric around sunset, when the sky turns golden and the ocean reflects the changing light.

The lighthouse itself is not primarily a tourist attraction, but rather a scenic landmark that adds character to the coastal walkways around Rabat.

  • Strong ocean winds common

  • Lighthouse interior usually not accessible
