The Komani Lake Ferry is one of the most scenic boat journeys in Europe, running through a narrow mountain reservoir surrounded by steep cliffs and wild nature. The route connects Koman with Fierzë and is often part of the classic travel route to Valbona and the Albanian Alps.

The ferry ride takes around 2 – 2,5 hours and passes through dramatic canyon-like landscapes with emerald-green water and remote villages only accessible by boat.

• Ferry itself is basic (don’t expect luxury)

• Can feel crowded in peak summer

• Not super organized - a bit chaotic sometimes

The boats can also take you into the Shala River:

• No road access → only reachable by boat

• Small boats leave from Koman ferry area

• Many tours go directly to riverside guesthouses

• Can be done as day trip or overnight stay
