Just a short drive south of St. John's, you'll find a real local treasure in La Manche Provincial Park. The trail leads you to a spectacular 50-metre suspension bridge crossing the cove, a perfect spot for a photo. From the main day-use parking area, it's about a 1.4 km walk down an access trail to reach the bridge and the start of the path to an abandoned village of La Manche, where you can wander among the old stone foundations of homes from a bygone era. The whole hike takes about 2–3 hours to explore fully.
