In summer:

You can take the gondola up and there are some shorter hiking trails, along with a really cool restaurant (reservations required) at the top. It runs between 10:00am and 3:30pm. It’s a great way to get those high alpine views without having to hike all the way up. Terminator Peak is a nice short ridge hike (3.2km, 180m elevation) that would be fun to checkout.
