Gorman Lake Trail

Distance/Difficulty: 6km, 318m elevation gain, rated as moderate (about 2 hours)

Starting/Finishing point: Access is via the rough Dogtooth Forest Service Road. Head north on this road to 16. 5 km then head east up the Gorman Lake Forest Road for another 4.2 km. 1hr 15min from Golden townsite.

Leave No Trace Information: Keep on trails, road, & durable surfaces, pack out what you pack in, bring bear spray

Privacy/Seclusion (estimate): super secluded

Views & Scenery: rockpiles, shaded woods, creekbeds, alpine lake, alpine meadow with wildflowers

Important information: A high-clearance 4WD vehicle is required to arrive at the parking area (with a normal 4WD, add about 2km to the hike). There are often grizzly bears in this area.
