What's the weather like in Stockholm?
The most asked question: what is the weather like?
Manon Galama
Stockholm, Sweden
The weather changes significantly with the seasons. Summers (roughly June to August) are usually pleasant and mild, with average daytime temperatures around 20–22 °C, and long daylight hours. Perfect for exploring the city and the nearby archipelago. Winters, on the other hand, are cold and snowy (or rainy), with average temperatures around 4 °C to –5 °C in the coldest months, and shorter daylight hours (6 hours of daylight in December!). Overall, precipitation is fairly evenly distributed throughout the year, though late summer and autumn tend to be a bit wetter than spring. Snow is hard to predict and varies from year to year. The biggest changes for snow are definitely in December, January, and February.
Because Stockholm’s weather varies so much by season, it’s always a good idea to check the forecast before planning your activities. One useful site for up-to-date weather forecasts is Klart. Download the app and check it before planning your activities.
And remember, there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes!
