Ujigami Shrine in Uji is believed to be the oldest standing shrine in Japan, dating back to around 1060. It's got that classic Japanese shrine vibe with a curved roof that provides shelter for worshipers. Fun fact: it used to be connected to Byodoin Temple as its "guardian shrine." You can easily stroll over from Keihan Uji Station or JR Uji Station and check out this historical gem for free.
