Staðarbjörg Basalt Columns is a hidden gem tucked away in the tiny village of Hofsós, Iceland. This formation of rocks has been shaped by nature, providing visitors with an impressive and mesmerizing sight to behold. Visitors can climb on parts of the cliffs and witness the wondrous scene with magnificent Skagafjörður fjord as a backdrop. The story of poor farmer, his declined wool at local merchant and a generous stranger living in the cliffs passes down from generation to generation. If you crave adventure and new experiences, take a trip to Hofsós and visit Staðarbjörg Small Basalt Column Cliffs for an unforgettable experience!

From road 1 you have to turn onto road Nr. 76 Siglufjarðarvegur. The distance to Hofsós is 42 kilometers. Near the shore, below the fantastic Hofsós swimming pool, there are a few steps to descend on a staircase. When you are on the coast you have a great view of this beautiful formation of basalt columns and apparently a small village of elves.
