Svartifoss is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland, located along road 1, it is very easy to access.

The start of the walk can be done from the car park or from the campsite about 200m away.

Svartifoss is 12m high and comes from the Stórilækur river which has its source a little further north, in the Skaftafell glacier.

It takes 1h30 (1.5km) to make the loop between the car park and the main waterfall, Svartifoss, the hike is easy and the elevation of about 150m. The walk is perfectly marked and it is not possible to get lost.
