The Escadaria Selarón, also known as the Lapa Steps, is a famous set of colorful steps in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Created by artist Jorge Selarón as a tribute to the Brazilian people, the steps are covered in over 2000 tiles from around the world.

He started his work in 1990 and it took him over 20 years to finish the decoration of the steps. You can find tiles from almost anywhere (we invite you to look for your country! We even found one from Slovenia). He also included tiles of many different themes, including several soccer teams, many about navigation ones, etc. You could spend an entire afternoon here if you would be exploring the different tiles closely.

Curiosity: Have you heard the song Beautiful by Snoop Dogg? It was filmed right here, at the Selaron Steps.
