Amed is a hidden gem! It's honestly the most underrated spot in Bali in our opinion! It's a small beach town that goes along land shaped as what we can only describe as looking like the frosting on the edge of a cake. It's beautiful. Driving up and down along those roads is mesmerising, and the views of the mountains in the distance every time you get to a high point is insane.

It takes 2.5-3 hours to drive here from The Canggu Area, but we've been 3 times now as we enjoyed it so much! There's so many great little cafes & restaurants and little beach bars that often turn into karaoke spots at night - if you're looking for a quiet but still fun getaway for a few days with a group of friends, this is the place. We recommend staying at The Pleasure Dome !

There's something about the area that makes Amed drier and less humid than other parts of Bali - it kind of reminded us of the Mediterranean!

It's also a great place for snorkelling and scuba diving, with a lot of scuba schools!
