A visit to the Vatican Museum is a must-see for anyone looking to take in some of the world's most renowned masterpieces, explore small and large archaeological areas, and uncover the incredible history behind the artifacts. From the collection of artwork and sculptures from the past, to guided tours and educational opportunities, there is something for everyone to explore at the Vatican Museums. Plus, on the last Sunday of each month, you can enjoy free entry alongside regular ticketed visits.

The Vatican Museum is one of Rome's most visited sights, so consider that they can always be crowded and the queue to get inside might be long, especially in high season. If you are really passionate about art and history, you must visit it. However, if you are in Rome for the first time (and planning to come back in the future), I would keep this for the second time you visit. Rome has a lot you can see, and you can easily lose half a day / a day here, and since it might be super crowded the experience wouldn't even be that enjoyable.
