The Pantheon is one of the most iconic and fascinating structures of Ancient Rome. Built by Agrippa, destroyed and then rebuilt twice in its long history, it now stands as a testament to the power of Roman architecture and engineering. It was first built as a temple in 27 BC and then converted into a church in 609 AD, and this is probably the main reason why we can still admire the Pantheon today.

The Pantheon has the largest unreinforced concrete dome ever made. In the inside you can spot the tombs of several important historical Italian figures like Vittorio Emanuele II, the first king of Italy.

Since 2023, to visit the inside is required a ticket that costs €5. I'd recommend buying it online to be sure you'll be able to visit the inside.

I loved seeing the inside of the Pantheon, and if you are unsure if you want to go inside or not, I'd say go. From the outside, you won't be able to understand how gorgeous and massive the dome is. It's a one of a kind place and I consider it a must-visit in Rome, outside and inside.
