This is a trip that I recommend to do with camping in the beautiful spot in front of Altenalp Türm. There are a few nice places just before you ascend to Öhrli. You will start the ascent from the Ebenalp cable car station and pass Schäfler. there you will continue on a trail which is very narrow with steep ridge down (so absolutely no vertigo for this). It will take about 2:30-3h to arrive to the camping spot (depending how easy it is for you to walk in these "mountaineering" conditions.) The effort is absolutely worth it since you'll be most likely alone and it's far away from the mass tourism spots.

The next day I would recommend you to take the route back to Altenalp and then Seealpsee. It's nice to have also a swim in the lake before heading back down to Wasserauen.

Photography tips: Its really nice to stay for sunset and you'll get great colors. Also depending on the weather conditions you can witness crazy amazing cloud inversions or enjoy a panorama to the Bodensee.
