Milan Airports & How to Get to the City
From Malpensa, Linate and Bergamo to downtown Milan
Massimiliano Donghi
Milan, Italy
Milan is served by three main airports, all well connected to the city by public transport and private transfers.
Malpensa (MXP) is the main international hub and is directly linked to the city center by the Malpensa Express train, running frequently to Milano Centrale, Porta Garibaldi and Cadorna in about 40–50 minutes.
Linate (LIN), the closest airport to the city, is connected by the M4 (Blue metro line), allowing you to reach central Milan in around 15–20 minutes.
Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGY), widely used by low-cost airlines, is connected to Milan by frequent shuttle buses to Milano Centrale, with a travel time of about 50–60 minutes.
Taxis and private transfers are available at all airports, but during the Olympic period public transport is often the fastest and most reliable option. Always check real-time schedules on official transport websites or apps before traveling.
