Milan Railway Stations
How to arrive in Milan by train and move around the city
Massimiliano Donghi
Milan, Italy
Milan is Italy’s main railway hub, with several major train stations connecting the city to the rest of Italy and Europe, as well as to Olympic venues and airports.
Milano Centrale is the city’s largest station and the main gateway for high-speed trains (Frecciarossa, Italo) and international connections. It’s also a key hub for airport shuttles to Malpensa, Linate and Bergamo, and it’s served by Metro lines M2 (green) and M3 (yellow).
Milano Porta Garibaldi is another important high-speed and regional station, well connected by Metro lines M2 (green) and M5 (purple) and by the Passante Ferroviario, making it very convenient for moving across the city.
Milano Cadorna is ideal for travelers arriving from Malpensa Airport via Malpensa Express and connects directly to Metro lines M1 (red) and M2 (green).
Milano Rogoredo is a key stop for high-speed trains and suburban lines, connected to Metro line M3 (yellow) and particularly useful for reaching Olympic venues in the south-east area of the city.
Thanks to the dense metro and suburban rail network, all main stations are well connected to the city center and make train travel one of the easiest ways to reach and explore Milan during the Olympics
