On the western tip of Giudecca island, you can't miss the towering chimney of the old Molino Stucky, a magnificent piece of Venice's industrial past. This former neo-Gothic flour mill, now a grand hotel, is a striking feature on the city's skyline. For the best view, I recommend hopping on a vaporetto; seeing its red-brick façade rise from the water is a truly unique Venetian sight and gives you a real sense of the city's diverse history beyond the usual palaces.
